If you want naturally glowing, youthful skin, it all starts from within. Your skin, being one of the largest organs in your body, is deeply influenced by the nutrients you consume daily. The radiant, healthy glow that you see on the surface of your skin is largely a reflection of the beauty foods and vitamins you nourish your body with each day. If you're looking to achieve beautiful, glowing skin at any age, the key is to prioritise a whole-food-based diet packed with beauty foods rich in collagen—this is the secret sauce to defying the signs of aging and supporting your skin's health over time.

Collagen is an essential protein that plays a crucial role in the structure of your skin. It’s a vital peptide found in animal proteins and is needed to maintain the strength, elasticity, and overall health of your skin. But collagen doesn’t just contribute to skin health—it’s also fundamental for maintaining and building healthy joints, cartilage, and even the connective tissues, bones, muscles, and blood vessels in your body. Essentially, collagen is the building block that holds your body together, and as you age, your body’s natural collagen production starts to decline, which is why incorporating it into your diet becomes even more important.

Incorporating collagen-rich beauty foods like bone broth, chicken, and fish into your meals is a great way to support your skin health from the inside out. But, if you want a more convenient way to ensure you're getting enough collagen, collagen supplements are a great option. Whether you choose to buy collagen powder or take collagen capsules, adding them to your routine can help rejuvenate your skin, enhance its elasticity, and improve its overall appearance.

By nourishing your body with the right nutrients and skin health supplements, you'll be well on your way to maintaining a glowing, youthful complexion that radiates from the inside out.

Collagen is the building blocks of tissue and comprises three quarters of your skin and a third of the protein in your body. As you age, the existing collagen breaks down, and it gets harder for your body to produce on its own so supplementation becomes essential.

I am always testing out new wholefood and botanically based supplements that can support an otherwise healthy diet and lifestyle. So when I was asked my thoughts on REPAIR by Sydney naturopath, Pernille Jensen of The Gut Co, it quickly got my attention and a tick of approval…

I loved that @thegut.co REPAIR is a naturopathically formulated superfood powder and created by knowledgeable naturopath who has researched the gut microbiome and the relationship between gut function and our wellbeing for the past 12 years. Her supplement, REPAIR, has been thoughtfully crafted to deliver hydrolysed collagen and supply antioxidants, vitamin A, vitamin C, and Zinc, all of which are all essential in supporting natural collagen production in the body. Its definitely a wholesome, beauty food I feel safe taking.

Something else I was impressed by is it that REPAIR is FODMAP friendly, That means it is gentle on sensitive tummies and helpful for many ailments. The powdered supplement has a subtle fruity flavour that is tasty straight up over ice or in smoothies, and lends itself well to being used in raw food desserts, overnight oats or chia pudding.
