Vanilla Banana & Plum Smoothie Bowl

Vanilla Banana & Plum Smoothie Bowl

Creamy, fruity and made for your afternoon sweet spot

Some afternoons, you’ve eaten well and still fancy something sweet. On others, the day has run away with you—breakfast was rushed, coffee kept you company and lunch barely happened.

Either way, there’s room for something you enjoy.

This vanilla banana and plum smoothie bowl, created by nutritionist Emma Lisa, brings together the pleasure of a sweet treat with nourishing ingredients. Frozen banana creates a creamy base, dates add sweetness and Vanilla PROTEIN gives it a delicious flavour while contributing to your daily protein intake.

Finish with cherries, crushed walnuts and toasted coconut for a little crunch. It’s an easy recipe to keep in mind as the afternoons get warmer.

Your afternoon, blended

You don’t need to earn a treat or make every food choice perfect. Sometimes you’re hungry. Sometimes you want something sweet. Sometimes it’s both.

This bowl is a lovely option when you’re in the mood for something chilled and creamy. And if you’ve missed a meal, give yourself permission to eat enough—this recipe can be part of that, rather than a reason to keep pushing through.

The recipe

Serves: 1
Prep: 3 minutes
Blend: 1–2 minutes

Ingredients

  • 250ml almond milk, plus a little extra if needed

  • 1 large frozen banana, sliced

  • 1 sachet DEWY Kakadu Plum, or 1–2 ripe plums, stones removed

  • 1 scoop The Gut Cø Vanilla PROTEIN

  • 2–3 pitted Medjool dates, to taste

  • 2 tsp ground psyllium husk

  • ½ cup crushed ice

  • To serve: pitted cherries, crushed walnuts and toasted coconut

Method

  1. Add the almond milk, frozen banana, DEWY sachet or plums, Vanilla PROTEIN, dates, psyllium and ice to a high-powered blender.

  2. Blend for 1–2 minutes, or until smooth and creamy. Add a splash more milk if your blender needs help.

  3. Pour into a bowl and smooth the surface with the back of a spoon.

  4. Top with halved, pitted cherries, crushed walnuts and a sprinkling of toasted coconut. Enjoy straight away, as the psyllium will thicken the mixture as it sits.

Prefer a drinkable smoothie? Add more almond milk until you reach your preferred consistency.

Why we love this combination

A creamy base from fruit
Frozen banana gives the bowl its thick texture. Plums bring a fresh, fruity flavour, while dates let you adjust the sweetness to suit your taste.

Protein with a purpose
Our Vanilla PROTEIN combines whey protein isolate and collagen, making it an easy addition when you want to include more protein in your day.

A little texture on top
Walnuts and toasted coconut add crunch, while cherries bring another burst of fruit. Use the toppings you enjoy and have on hand.

Two ways to make it
Choose fresh plums for a fruit-based version, or use DEWY Kakadu Plum to incorporate your daily beauty formula. They’ll give you different flavours, so experiment with your favourite.

Make it part of your spring routine

Keep sliced banana in the freezer and a few pantry ingredients ready to go. When you want something sweet, you’ll have a simple recipe waiting.

Spoon it slowly, enjoy the toppings and make a little room in your afternoon for something delicious.
